[edit]| Should an article about a multinational business include references to "occupied territories", "cultural appropriation", genocide, apartheid and political boycotts when the references are based only on the possible location of one of several manufacturing plants and the name of the shell company that owns the operating company that runs the business? There is no suggestion that any executives or employees are engaged in these things.
This began with a request from a COI editor to remove non-WP:RS sources and asking for an addition to the "cultural appropriation" discussion. After three months of discussion, I posted that I would remove the content rather than changing the sources. There was no response. Talk:Moroccanoil#Request edit, October 2025 Eight hours after I made the change, it was reverted by an editor who had not participated in the earlier discussion. I added another section to the talk page, Talk:Moroccanoil#National allegiance of Moroccanoil. This produced a long and un-WP:CIVIL discussion. It revealed, among other things, that the editor's opinion is based on WP:OR from interpreting the legal disclaimers on the company's websites. The editor who made the reversion has been involved in this issue before, and engaged in edit wars. Addition of a tag in 2024 was reverted 19 minutes later. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Moroccanoil&diff=next&oldid=1226760728 Elimination of the supposed national identity was altered in 1:24 and an edit war followed. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Moroccanoil&diff=1226475555&oldid=1226463207 Julian in LA (talk) 03:58, 3 February 2026 (UTC) |

[edit]Talk:Antioch International Movement of Churches
| Should the Antioch International Movement of Churches article include the following precise, sourced wording for the 2025 River Church Banff incident, noting the senior leadership response and regulatory inquiry, reflecting precise conviction language, attribution, and proportional coverage?
Proposed wording: "In 2025, a youth leader at Antioch affiliate River Church Banff was convicted of "repeatedly sexually touching a 14-year-old boy" and placed on the sex offenders register. According to The Times, the conduct involved inappropriately stroking the boy beginning in 2022. The Press and Journal and The Times report that the church's senior leadership, lead pastor Rob McArthur and founding elder Joe Ewen, were aware of the behavior for several months before the family and police were notified. Parents of the victim spoke of how their son was "betrayed" by their church, saying the leadership repeatedly "downplayed" concerns about grooming and prioritized protecting the public image of the church. After the victim’s family approached Antioch Waco in 2023, McArthur and Ewen issued a joint apology. Media coverage also noted River Church Banff's formal link to Antioch Waco, including receipt of staff salaries and hosting missionaries from the United States. Following reporting, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator opened an inquiry into the church's trustees." Arguments for inclusion:
Arguments for removal or trimming:
Questions for comment: 1. Does this proposed wording accurately reflect the sources, remain neutral, and maintain due weight in the article? 2. Talk:Catherine, Princess of Wales
| I'd like to raise a quick style point for consensus: should this article include a comma after fronted year phrases such as "In 2011, ..."?
Another editor has noted that comma placement isn't regulated by ENGVAR, so it's up to local consensus whether to include or omit the comma. With that in mind, I wanted to ask what the preferred approach should be here. Several royal Featured Articles — including Queen Victoria, George VI, and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother — consistently include the comma after "In [year]," and it seems to improve readability by preventing the opening of the sentence from running together. By contrast, the articles on Catherine, William, and their children tend to omit the comma, which makes them outliers compared with most other royal biographies. For the sake of consistency across these closely related pages, it would be helpful to decide whether these articles should follow the broader FA precedent. For my part, I support including the comma after "In [year],". It keeps this article consistent with the wider set of royal biographies, most of which already use that style, and it does improve readability. I'm not sure why the Catherine, William, and Wales children's pages use a different approach when the majority of comparable royal articles include the comma, so aligning the style here seems the clearer and more consistent option. I'm happy to follow whatever consensus forms — I just wanted to raise the point so we can settle on one consistent approach. ItsShandog (talk) 14:46, 25 January 2026 (UTC) |

Until earlier this month, these templates have been located directly below the infobox, usually within the introduction. As their recent removal, appears to impact navigability to other related articles such as 2024 Summer Olympics Parade of Nations. Open to suggestions on if they should be re-added as before, relocated elsewhere within the main article, or completely removed. - Epluribusunumyall (talk) 21:39, 27 January 2026 (UTC) |

How should we format his place of birth in the infobox?

Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)
to celebrate wikipedia's 25th anniversary, a toggleable "birthday mode" has been created. it consists of easter eggs involving baby globe, such as having it scroll a phone in the top right of an article while the reader scrolls down an article. more details can be found on the linked page. if the feature is enabled, by 26 january, administrators can configure the mode through community configuration; and the mode will be public from 16 february to 16 march (an administrator will have to turn on the feature on the day itself). enabling the feature requires "a consensus from your community", so i have brought it here to ascertain the community consensus. (there was some previous discussion on Wikipedia:Village pump (miscellaneous)/Archive 86 § Easter eggs, but it was archived without further action.) should english wikipedia enable the 25th anniversary birthday mode, and if so, should it be on by default?

This page is for bringing attention to usernames which may be in violation of Wikipedia's username policy. Before listing a username here, consider if it should be more appropriately reported elsewhere, or if it needs to be reported at all:
- Report blatantly inappropriate usernames, such as usernames that are obscene or inflammatory, to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention.
- For other cases involving vandalism, personal attacks or other urgent issues, try Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents; blatant vandalism can also be reported at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, which is sometimes a better option.
Do NOT post here if:
- the user in question has made no recent edits.
- you wish to have the block of a user reviewed. Instead, discuss the block with the blocking administrator (see also Wikipedia:Blocking policy § Unblocking).
Before adding a name here you MUST ensure that the user in question:
- has been warned about their username (with e.g. {{subst:uw-username}}) and has been allowed time to address the concern on their user talk page.
- has disagreed with the concern, refused to change their username and/or continued to edit without replying to the warning.
- is not already blocked.
If, after having followed all the steps above, you still believe the username violates Wikipedia's username policy, you may list it here with an explanation of which part of the username policy you think has been violated. After posting, please alert the user of the discussion (with e.g. {{subst:UsernameDiscussion}}). You may also invite others who have expressed concern about the username to comment on the discussion by use of this template.
Add new requests below, using the syntax {{subst:rfcn1|username|2=reason ~~~~}}.

Reports
[edit]Please remember that this is not a vote, rather, it is a place where editors can come when they are unsure what to do with a username, and to get outside opinions (hence it's named "requests for comment"). There are no set time limits to the period of discussion.
- Place your report below this line. Please put new reports on the top of the list.
